If you're in real estate, construction, or the built environment, this one's for you.
Brussels office take-up dropped to 108,600 mยฒ in H1 2026, down 36% in a year. Vacancy is creeping up, to 8%.
At the same time, Belgian companies have embraced AI faster than almost anyone in Europe: 34.5% used at least one AI technology in 2025, up from 24.7% a year earlier. That puts Belgium in Europe's top 5, against an EU average of 20%.
So is AI emptying our offices? Not so fast. Savills found that across 12 European countries, the more companies adopt AI, the more they plan to hire in services. AI may not shrink the office. It may completely reshape it.
On 20 May, we're hosting "AI & Office Take-up" in Brussels. One evening. A curated room. Landlords, occupiers, agents, workplace and tech leaders, figuring out what the office of the AI era looks like, and who will build it.
