An Inspiring Evening in Luxembourg: People, Innovation & the Future of the Built Environment
On 04 December in Luxembourg, Schroeder & Associés S.A hosted an inspiring afterwork session that brought together some of the most forward-thinking voices shaping the future of living, design, and urban development.
The conversations were honest, practical and grounded in reality — exactly what the construction and real estate sector needs right now.
A heartfelt thank you to all speakers and attendees who joined us, and special thanks to our generous host for creating a space where meaningful dialogue could truly happen.
The room buzzing with energy, bold ideas, and unforgettable conversations that matter, that’s how we’d sum up this unforgettable evening with buildbuild, Schroeder & Associés S.A., CDCL Compagnie De Construction Luxembourgeoise, Fonds du Logement, Augment - Digital Facilities Services taking the stage.
A huge thank you to our host Schroeder & Associés S.A and community sponsors atHomeGroup and amazing speakers for making this happen.

Marco Da Chao– Schroeder & Associés S.A.
Marco reminded us that despite rapid advances in AI, robotics and digital tools, strong organisations remain fundamentally people-driven. The biggest shift ahead isn’t technological it’s cultural. Complexity is now permanent, and our success will depend on collaboration, agility and adopting a new mindset. He also underscored a silent climate threat: urban heat, now the leading climate-related cause of mortality in Europe.

Marko Mihic Jeftic – buildbuild
Construction still operates on processes designed decades ago, with highly skilled engineers spending countless hours on administrative tasks. Marko highlighted how agentic ERPs and automation will eliminate this repetitive load, allowing teams to focus on problem-solving, planning and leadership. The future is a partnership: machines handling the routine, humans handling the judgement.

Quentin De Man – CDCL Compagnie De Construction Luxembourgeoise
Quentin emphasized that up to 10–15% of construction costs are lost simply due to outdated plans, missing information and misalignment across teams. Digital tools can close this gap but only if everyone contributes accurate data from the start. He also stressed the importance of industrialization and hybrid construction methods as the sector adapts to rising pressures.
𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞 𝐔𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞
Successful innovation is practical, not theoretical. Drone scans, network mapping and real-time data now save public teams huge amounts of time. And when communities adapt spaces in their own way, it’s not a flaw, it’s proof the project works.

Rida Klink– Augment - Digital Facilities Services
Rida reminded us that the real gap is information: most buildings don’t even have accurate plans. Digitizing them now takes just weeks, unlocking smarter maintenance, better operations and true digital twins for the 80% of buildings already here.
Across all speakers, one message resonated clearly:
We don’t innovate for innovation’s sake.
We innovate to solve real problems and build places where people can truly thrive.
Thank you once again to everyone who made this Luxembourg evening such a success
