François Desquesnes is Vice-President and Walloon Minister for Spatial Planning, Infrastructure, Mobility and Local Authorities, a role he has held since July 2024.
His career in service of Wallonia began more than 20 years ago. A Walloon Member of Parliament since 2014, he was re-elected in 2019 and became Group Leader of Les Engagés in the Parliament of Wallonia.
He has also held several government roles, including Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff to Benoît Lutgen. Trained as a lawyer in public law, his early professional experience within the Walloon Tourism Department laid the foundations for a career focused on improving tourism infrastructure.
Rooted in local and regional realities, his career reflects a continued commitment to the well-being of the people of Wallonia, while working towards sustainable and innovative development.
