Audrey Henry’s journey began with a belief that public service should never be distant from people’s lives. Trained as both a lawyer and manager, she built her career at the heart of the Belgian state from private security regulation through foreign affairs to supporting government leadership during the COVID-19 crisis.
As the first woman to serve as Mayor of Schaerbeek, she led one of Brussels’ most diverse communes with a focus on dialogue, cohesion, and concrete action. Today, as Brussels Secretary of State for Urban Planning, Territorial Development, Public Cleanliness and Energy, she combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership. Across every responsibility, her commitment remains the same: bringing people together, making bold decisions, and shaping a stronger and more sustainable future for Brussels.
