We are thrilled by the incredible response to the PropTech Trophy 2024! Thank you to everyone who submitted their projects. The quality and innovation of each submission exceeded our expectations, making this an inspiring and challenging selection process. We are in awe of the impact each of you have made for the industry!After careful consideration, we are excited to announce the finalists for this year’s awards:🏆 Finalists for Project of the Year:

  • BECRUX, submitted by Morph as the project’s architect: A sustainable residential building in Madrid that incorporates geothermal energy for heating and cooling, advanced air quality systems, and passive design features to enhance energy efficiency and occupant comfort. The project also emphasizes climate adaptation strategies and utilizes Building Information Modeling (BIM) to optimize construction processes.

  • The Louise, submitted by Schneider Electric as the project’s engineer, developer, and project manager: Located on Avenue Louise, this project focuses on building optimization through innovative solutions and a dedicated app, achieving a 35% reduction in energy consumption. The development integrates modern design with sustainable practices to enhance both functionality and environmental performance.

  • Lakeside, submitted by Atenor as the project’s developer: Lakeside is a mixed-use project that emphasizes biodiversity and green design, incorporating extensive green spaces and sustainable building practices. The development aims to create a harmonious living environment that contributes positively to the urban ecosystem.

  • Nexus Datacenter, submitted by Ghelamco as the project’s developer: Nexus is Belgium's first sustainable-by-design data center. Covering 11,500 square meters, it achieves high energy efficiency through the use of 100% renewable energy, heat recovery systems, and rainwater utilization, earning triple certification: UPTIME Tier III, BREEAM Excellent, and EDGE Advanced.

🏆 Finalists for Partnership of the Year:

  • Skysun x IEG Intercommunale d'Etude et de Gestion: Skysun collaborated with IEG to create IEGSUN, leveraging their patented "Zinclike" Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) technology to integrate 4,000 solar panels on the Marché International Mouscronnois' zinc rooftops. This project generates 1,700 MWh of renewable energy annually, avoiding 330 tonnes of CO2 emissions yearly.

  • AG REAL ESTATE x Consortium Schoolkracht x SchoolInvest Vlaamse overheid: AG Real Estate, as part of the Consortium Schoolkracht, was awarded a €400 million contract to design, build, and maintain 27 new schools across Flanders and Brussels for 30 years under the "Scholen van Vlaanderen" program. This initiative provides 165,000 m² of additional school space for 20,000 students, promoting modern educational environments and capacity expansion for special education.

  • Commuty x EY: Commuty collaborated with EY Belgium to implement a parking management system that transformed the employee and visitor experience during their office relocation. The solution linked a reservation-based system to building access control, ensuring fairness and prioritization for 2,700 users with only 627 parking spots, including efficient use of 202 EV chargers.

  • BitaGreen x Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal): BitaGreen and IS Global collaborated to quantify the health impacts of nature-positive urban development, linking reduced mortality and health burdens to green infrastructure. This partnership supports BitaGreen's mission to scale nature-based resilience in cities, offering insights into urban health benefits for over 5 million residents locally and potentially over 1 billion globally.

🏆 Finalists for StartUp of the Year:

  • Enky | Furniture Solutions has doubled its team size, placed over €5M worth of furniture on the market, and delivered 100+ projects. It recently entered the UK market with a major hospitality project and launched Enky Invest, an in-house platform empowering investors to support sustainable furnishing projects.

  • Trigrr is recognized globally as a top Building Operating System (BOS) solution, deployed in 100+ buildings across 4 countries with zero churn. Its innovative platform and rapid growth have established it as a leader in efficient building technology and management.

  • Skysun transitioned to become a licensed energy provider, helping clients save significantly on energy costs with innovative solutions like its 0-CAPEX Power Purchase Agreements. Scaling rapidly, Skysun integrates cutting-edge technologies like AI-driven optimization and patented Zinclike technology, driving sustainability and energy independence across Europe.

  • Spaceflow signed major new clients like MaMa Pioneers and Capitaland while strengthening partnerships with long-time clients. With monthly feature updates and measurable success in case studies, Spaceflow has maintained its position as a leader in tenant experience innovation, earning multiple awards and nominations in 2024.

The PropTech Community Trophy is not just an award—it’s a celebration of ideas that challenge the status quo and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Each submission represents a vital step forward for our industry, and we are truly grateful to be a part of this journey with you.
