Why the AI Awards
From pilots to proof
This year we assessed 84 professionals from 53 companies across architecture, contracting, development and asset management. The finding was the same everywhere: the AI skills are there, the tools are not yet. The companies that have closed that gap deserve to be seen, and the rest of the sector needs to learn from them.
The AI Awards recognise organisations whose AI is live, used by real teams, and delivering measurable results. Not ideas. Not demos. Deployments.
Who can apply
Open to the whole ecosystem
Startups and scale-ups building AI for construction and real estate
Construction and real estate corporates: developers, contractors, architects, engineering firms, asset and property managers, investors
Large end-users: tenants and occupiers, consultancies, law firms, insurers, banks, telcos and other companies applying AI to buildings or real estate work
You do not need to be an EightySeven member to apply. Each organisation can submit up to 2 applications, with a different project in each.

Grand Prix: AI Leader of the Year. No application needed: the jury picks it from the category winners, for the biggest overall impact.
How to apply
Apply in 4 steps
Choose your category. One project per application. If your project fits several, pick the one where your results are strongest.
Prepare your evidence. Have your numbers ready before you start: results before and after, number of users, sites or clients covered, key dates.
Fill in the online form. About 20 to 30 minutes. Your progress is saved, so you can come back to it.
Get shortlisted. The jury reviews every application. Shortlisted teams are invited to the awards night and pitch for 2 minutes on stage.
What to have ready:
A one-sentence summary of your project
Up to 3 measured results, with before and after values
Who built it (in-house, vendor, partners) and when it went live
Your organisation logo (PNG or SVG)
Optional: a case study or screenshots (PDF), a demo video link (max 3 minutes), a client or partner reference

How we judge
Judged on results, not promises
Every application is scored on the same four criteria by a jury of CIOs, innovation leaders and experts from across the construction and real estate sector.

Confidentiality: Your answers are seen only by the jury. We publish only your organisation name, logo, project summary and any results you mark as public. Jurors step out of any decision involving their own company, clients or competitors.

FAQ
Does it cost anything to apply?
No, applying is free.
Do I need to be an EightySeven member?
No. The awards are open to every company in the construction and real estate ecosystem.
Can we apply with a pilot?
You can, but the jury rewards AI that is live and delivering results. A pilot with no measured outcome will score low.
Can we apply in more than one category?
Yes, up to 2 applications, each with a different project.
What if we can’t share our figures publicly?
Mark them as confidential in the form. Only the jury will see them.
Can a vendor apply with its client?
Yes: that is exactly what the “Best AI Deployment with a Client” award is for. Your client co-signs the application.
